SCK selects SecureLink for new LAN project

To replace the existing LAN SCK (Studiecentrum voor Kernergie) chose state of the art solutions from ao Juniper Networks and Trapeze Networks. It has picked the expertise from Benelux oriented security integrator SecureLink NV.

Over 100 Juniper EX switches are installed at the base of the new LAN. SCK was extremely charmed by this new line of switches, equiped with the very performant and modular JunOS.

Security was expanded by the 802.1X authentication technology from Juniper Networks UAC, Unified Access Control. Thus, unauthorised lan connectivity is prevented and a new layer of security is installed on the network.

In order to manage these Juniper Networks EX Switches and UAC, SecureLink proposed NSMXpress. This appliance brings consolidation of management interfaces of the switches and the UAC Infranet Controller, thus rendering a very high level of manageability.

The last part of is this new security roll-out was the Juniper Networks STRM, the Security Threat Response Manager. This equipment offers a large set of logging tools and analyses the network behaviour in one performant console.

Finally, this LAN infrastructure was equipped with a very performant Wireless LAN environment from Trapeze Networks. Over 40 access points, in a redundant controller setup, and the very flexible SmartPass (former Guest Access), to provide guests secure internet access, make this project highly available and very easy to use.
