Announcing the PA-200, WildFire and PAN-OS 4.1

On November 7th, Palo Alto Networks announced yet another round of new platform, product and feature innovations that will continue to reshape the enterprise firewall market. More importantly, these announcements will provide organizations with enterprise-wide next-generation firewall security.

The new PA-200

... a small form factor firewall platform extends visibility and control over applications, users and content to enterprise branch offices. This new addition to the product line is quiet and small enough to sit on a desktop, yet the PA-200 extends the same control used in perimeter and datacenter environments without compromising on functionality and performance.

WildFire, available as part of the PAN-OS 4.1 release

... is a new innovation that expands the definition of next-generation firewalls with protection against targeted, unknown, highly evasive and network enabled threats known as modern malware. WildFire identifies unknown malicious files by directly and automatically executing them in a virtual cloud-based environment. If the files are indeed malicious, a signature is automatically created and delivered to all customers in the next scheduled daily content update.

GlobalProtect

Apple iOS products such as the iPad, iPhone, and Mac OS X devices are now protected by GlobalProtect, expanding beyond Microsoft Windows devices to provide customers with the industry's most comprehensive security and consistent visibility and control over all of their network traffic regardless of device or location.

WildFire and Apple iOS support in GlobalProtect are just a few of the more than 50 new features in PAN-OS 4.1 that will help organizations streamline workflow and simplify integration into their existing network architectures.
