The City of Aalst (Stad Aalst) is a good example of collaboration between the end user and his integrator.
First of all there was the need to provide access to all data for the city counsellors. A great part of these counsellors resides in the Flemish Parliament and were cut off from all data while doing their elected ducties for the people. SecureLink integrated the Juniper Secure Access 4000 solution.
To protect the endusers from spam SecureLink installed the IronPort C100. IronPort's view on spam is totally different than all other competitors in the market. Rather than only looking inside e-mail (content scanning), searching for spam, IronPort investigates and records all activities of email sending IP addresses in the world, thus determining what is spam and what is not.
To facilitate the Internet access, SecureLink brought in the proxy solution of Blue Coat, the SG510. Blue Coat is more than just a caching proxy. It can filter, log and (dis-)allow all port 80 traffic, streaming media and instant messaging.
The City of Aalst chose to complete their security vision with Juniper Netscreen's IDP 50. The deployment of this solution brought to the city the ultimate line of defense against worms, Trojans, spyware, keyloggers, and other malicious traffic.
Kurt Schelfhout (City of Aalst):
"Our first, and hopefully not last, encounter with SecureLink. I'm active in IT since 1991 and I have never experienced a smoother cooperation, from project offer to execution. Even the support is from exceptional quality. In short, a Formula 1 company in IT. Try them: seeing is believing."
