The cyber security challenges of 2017 and beyond

How to cope with the ever-changing IT landscape?

There are many IT challenges ahead of us. Just think of the GDPR that will come into effect in May 2018 and the new generation of mobile workers. Employees require more flexible workspaces, but how do you safely enable this?

On top of that, security experts are very hard to find and most internal IT departments already have their hands full with everyday tasks.  How do you relieve your IT department without compromising security? And what about machine learning? Is it really that amazing and how will it change our work lives?

The answers to all those questions @ the SecureLink Security Summit in Nivelles on May 11, 2017.

We will provide extensive information on these topics:

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). You have probably already heard of this new European legislation to protect personal data. It has many implications for organizations and the fines for non-compliance can go up to €20m or 4% of the parent company’s annual turnover.

This legislation applies to the complete processing of personal data stored on premise or in the cloud, from collection to deletion. It requires organizations to deploy enhanced protection against security intrusions.

How do you prepare your organization?

Our GDPR expert Simen Van der Perre will discuss this topic from a technological perspective.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is experiencing a technology-induced revival. Companies are now virtualizing desktops more than ever before. It’s not the general idea of cost saving, but Security, Data Protection and Flexibility that are the main drivers behind a Secure Workspace based on VDI.

A Secure Workspace is not a walk in the park, it can be a slam dunk or a flat out ‘Don’t do it’ if you don’t have the right expertise.

This presentation will be given by Bob Deleeck, Secure Workspace Business Developer at SecureLink.

Organizations have made countless efforts to protect themselves from data breaches; and still news items about companies that are hacked are everyday occurrences. How is it that we still have such bad results? You need to realize that equipment alone won’t make your organization secure. You need more than astonishing technology, you also need astonishing people, policies and processes. Unfortunately, security experts are hard to find. How to solve this problem? Ever considered Managed Services? Now is the right time to do so!

Peter Beerten, our business developer SecureProtect will elaborate on this topic.

Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence are hot topics in the industry today. But, to what extent do you trust these techniques? Can they only detect well-known malware or do they spot new threats at the lightning of speed?

Reactive cyber security is dead, you need a proactive approach against threats, even in a virtualized environment.

Go for a 99% recognition rate and make sure you have the best endpoint protection in the market.
