Interactive session on GDPR at AZ Groeninge | Feb 28, 2017
Europe’s measurements to protect personal data: how do you prepare your hospital?
From May 2018, all organizations that collect, store or process data of EU citizens must comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). You have probably already heard of this new European legislation to protect personal data. It has many implications for organizations and the fines for non-compliance can go up to €20m or 4% of the parent company’s annual turnover.
The GDPR applies to the complete processing of personal data stored on premise or in the cloud, from collection to deletion. It requires organizations to deploy enhanced protection against security intrusions. It is obvious that the collected (patient) data in the healthcare sector are extremely critical. In fact, of vital importance. When the reliability and availability of these data is compromised, this could have a serious impact on the operation of a hospital and on the patient’s health.
How should you prepare your hospital for the GDPR?
To make sure you meet the requirements, you must be properly prepared. On February 28, we will highlight the must-knows from two different angels during an in-depth session:
- The GDPR from a legal perspective: Digital transformation in healthcare & Europe’s data protection measurement
- Deep Dive by Antoon Dierick, Lead Lawyer specialized in privacy, data protection, cybercrime and information security at DLA Piper
- The GDPR from a technological perspective: Moving towards GDPR compliance
- Deep Dive by Simen Vander Perre, business developer GDPR at SecureLink
We will make this session as interactive as possible; therefore seats are limited*. In that context we hope you stay for dinner; an ideal opportunity to share experiences with your peers or to ask questions to the attending GDPR experts who will stick around.
*This event is for healthcare professionals only
